PianoDisc:  Ruth Laredo-Bach to Rach

The sensational Steinway artist's first PianoDisc release, Artist Series: Ruth Laredo-Bach to Rach (PD 3026) is available.

One of the disk's highlights is the very exciting Ritual Fire Dance - part of Spanish composer Manuel de Falla's El Amor Brujo Suite.  The disk also contains Bach's Prelude and Fugue in G Minor,  Isaac Albéniz' Songs of Spain, Op. 232, and five preludes by Sergei Rachmaninoff:  Opus. 32 No. 5 in G Major; No. 19 in B Minor; No. 11 in B Major; No. 12 in G# Minor and Opus 3 No. 2 in C# Minor.

"PianoDisc owners will be thrilled with the power and beauty of Ruth Laredo's Artist Series disk," commented PianoDisc Artist Director Jan Kiser. "She is a master musician whose performances combine brilliant technique with great insight and beauty. We're very proud that she allowed PianoDisc to record her for the player
piano medium."

PianoDisc is a computerized system that can be added to virtually any piano, transforming it into a 21st century version of the player piano. Instead of piano rolls, PianoDisc plays 3.5" floppy disks or specially-formatted PianoCDs. [Note: they aren't conventional CDs---they require their control box to play.]
